Our editors use Tracked Changes in Word or Google Docs. This means we leave corrections that you can either accept or reject. Lastly, we provide numerous comments to explain these changes and to provide recommendations for improvement.

No. At MA Editorial, we do not use LLM-based AI tools such as ChatGPT or Claude.  Instead, we use basic grammar checkers and traditional proofreading tools like PerfectIt. In short, for the most part, rely on highly qualified and hilghly experienced human editors.

We understand that AI is becoming more and more popular in the world of editing. However, the obvious problems of hallucinations, robotic tone, and plagiarism mean that we are wary of making part of our business model.

Yes, we provide a separate service for crafting marketing copy. This includes blog articles, landing pages, and ads. However, you should contact us directly to learn more about this service.

What style guide does MA Ediitorial use for editing technical manuals and other such documents?

Accepted Answer

Well, that depends. For technical editing of manuals that deal with software and other technical topics, we rely on the Google developer documentation style guide.  For less technical documents, we rely on the CMoS.

However, this is only in the absence of a specific house style or preferred guide that has been provided by a client. Please make sure that you let us know what your specifcic stylistic preferences are.
